Some news was shared with me today that Fox is announcing they will be replacing the cast of Futurama due to salary issues. Apparently the voice actors are asking more than Fox is willing to pay.
Fox Studios said in a statement: “We love the Futurama voice performers and absolutely wanted
to use them, but unfortunately, we could not meet their salary demands.
While replacing these talented actors will be difficult, the show must
go on. We are confident that we will find terrific new performers to
give voice to Matt and David’s brilliantly subversive characters.”
To die hard fans like us I'm sure this is a huge turn off but to the people who will just be flipping through the channels it will hardly be noticeable. This isn't the first show to have something like this happen and I'm sure Futurama will carry on with or without.
Personally I am a little disappointed they couldn't come to an agreement but in retrospect I'm just glad the show is coming back with new episodes. I'm sure it will be noticeable when you don't hear the vocies of Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Phil LaMarr and Billy West but it's not the end of the world. And who knows if the show does awesome maybe Fox will finance it a little more bring back at least Billy West and John DiMaggio.
Few more days until Futurama Comics #44 is out in stores. See ya then.

So I thought I would clean up the site for a minute and let you know the changes. I replaced the old poll with something else (FINALLY!) so please check that out and give your vote. I added #44 to the database and fixed minor errors around the site linking to it. I removed the video player (never really did anything anyhow). I updated the about page and the issues page. I guess that's about it for site changes.
I've been thinking about redesigning the website and using a different news poster besides this one. But every time I try to get started I seem to get discouraged. I guess it's just not time yet.
My scanner/printer broke so I haven't been able to do any scans for awhile. It's on the list of things to get fixed or replace. So I guess The Professor said it best when he said: "A man can dream."

So it's no longer a rumor, a spokesperson of 20th Century Fox has confirmed that Comedy Central has ordered 26 new episodes. This means there will be two, 13 episodes seasons for us to enjoy! The show will begin airing again sometime in 2010.
